I know, arlene, it's hard to make positive lifestyle changes, especially when the world around us often seems to be encouraging us to move in the opposite direction. I have lost a lot of weight in my lifetime, so I am more than familiar with the feeling. The most important thing I would suggest is not to try to give up the junk food altogether. Although you may lose a lot of weight very fast in that way, at some point, chances are you won't be able to resist your cravings anymore, and end up reverting to your old habits. This isn't because you have a weak will or anything; it's just a natural human reaction when feeling deprived. It happens to 90% of dieters who employ the 'cold turkey' method. Instead, eat three healthy meals every day, and then every couple of days, allow yourself a treat. Just don't go wild: stick to a small bowl of ice cream, a chocolate bar, or a reasonably sized portion of whatever it is you desire. Moderation is key. After a few weeks of this, you may even find that you don't want larger portions of sweets after all, but instead are satisfied with less. In other words, you will find the proper balance between health and happiness. Good luck ... you can do it!
Yep, you are the right path with considering a more healthy life style - good diet and exercise, no smoking or alcohol (or worse). Set a regular wake/sleep cycle ... more I can't think of at the moment. I love junk food (or maybe it just all food) and am a past smoker, I now try to practice what I am preaching. I quite smoking about 35 years ago, so I think I have that one won.
You bring up a preganancy in your post, I suggest you consider visiting the

Getting "out of shape" can creep up on you, and then all of a sudden you notice you are weak and out-of-breath and energy. Consider just walking a mile or two every day for starters, and eat your fruits and vegetables : O
Thank you for your advice, I honestly think its the diet pills too. I'm thinking to stop taking them and just start exercising and eating right..its just hard when all that junk food is around you. ehh /:
Hi there,
I know that many diet pills greatly increase the heart rate. They are meant to speed up your metabolism so that you burn more calories and lose weight, which is good, but they also have the ability to speed up other body processes so that your body, including your heart, is in a constant state of hyperactivity, which is bad. Don't rely on a pill to change your body. Please, please, don't. I personally believe that diet pills should be taken off the market. They have been proven in numerous studies to harm more than they help, and most people whom they do help to lose weight end up gaining the weight right back after they stop taking the pill. There are so many healthy, natural ways to lose weight, from exercising to eating natural foods in good amounts, that there's really no need to resort to pills at all. My advice is to throw the diet pills out and listen to your heart rejoice!
