I am a 33 female who has had some issues with palpitations for the past 4 yrs. I had gained 30 pds after getting married, and then 40 from my pregnancy 3 yrs ago. I am overweight, but I do walk a lot when I can do so. Well, I have palpiations that last a few seconds a few times a week. I was on Lisinopril HCTZ until recently, I found out I am pregnant again, so I discontinued the meds. I had a mc in the summer, and the other dr recommended stopping the bp immediately, so I know that is what I need to do; however, before my cycle last month, I had a sharp ongoing chest pain in the middle of my chest lasting for at least 3 hrs. I get swelling around the cartlage sometimes, so I thought maybe it was related. Then, Monday of this week, I had a similar but tighter pain that was in the middle chest for about 15 minutes. I drank cold water, took an aspirin and it seemed to subside. Well, yesterday, Friday, after picking up my son, I had a very tight pain that lasted no more than one minute, but went into my back and shoulder blade. Since I just found out I am pregnant, I consulted the dr, who seemed to think it could be indigestion, but this did not feel anywhere like that. I had an EKG last year due to the palps and it was ok, but it still continues and now I am pregnant. I am really worried and if possible, can someone give me a direction as far as either going back to the cardio or what the next step should be. I want to keep myself healthy for me and the lo, but the chest pains are frightening. Thanks.
