Heart Palptiations After Quitting Smoking

I am 30 yrs old and quit smoking 6weeks ago 2 weeks in I began having palpitations when I would lay down for bed at night and then they started occurring more often and during the day. I went to the hospital about 3 weeks ago only to find out everything tested out fine, my vitals are normal, blood work came back clean, chest xray and cat scan were all good. The palps however are not getting any better and make it almost impossible to sleep at night. Once the first one happens the anxiety that comes with it is so bad I almost feel as if it is triggering a panic attack. I have began an (80mg) aspirin regiment per my doctor, I also have doubled my water intake, started taking a multivitamin daily, and exercising nightly. The exercising is scary, even a slow jog with cause my chest to get tight and sometimes trigger palps. I just want to know if there if I will ever feel better again as apposed to be scared all the time.

Yes you will feel better again.    The adaptations to the smoking are reversing and it will take a few months to settle in.

Cigarette smoke irritates arteries to the heart (a alot!).  The reaction is inflation.  Over time it will cause the arteries to block completely off.

You are doing the right things though.  Keep up with the exercise.

If I had to completely guess I'd say that your heart has increased blood flow now which the muscle isn't used to.  It's adapted to lower flows.  With the increased flow the heart muscle cells probably get something called "enhanced automaticity".  Not a big deal.  It will slowly revert to normal so hang in there.  The baby aspirin might even exacerbate this.  Stay off the smokes, that crap is just bad news.
