Heart Pounding Issue

When I go from sitting to standing, my heart pounds and I feel a "heaviness" in my chest and throat area. I don't know if this is one of my Lyme symptoms, or something heart or GI related?

It pounds hard for a couple minutes, and then goes back to normal. No fast heartrate, just pounding and heaviness.

Any clue as to what it could be? I've had a bunch of heart tests and nothing shows up except for lots of PVC's, but this is a new symptom.

Thanks so much!

That sounds exactly like what I have!

I don't have anxiety, but these heart symptoms do make me very anxious and scared.

Has your Cardiologist told you anything about your symptoms?

I get the same thing and feel like my chest, neck and head will explode when i stand or sit quick i have had various tests as i also get awful palps but been told my heart is fine but it races at times too, i am 28 and my resting rate is at times 130 odd beats a min, i fear i have something very wrong but have been told its not serious. i also get sweats alot too.

Do you suffer with anxiety as i do and they say that can be a cause X

I didn't have this particular symptom when I had my heart tests, but I've had chest pain, PVC's, heaviness, etc. all normal on tests.

It only happens sometimes, not every time I stand up, which is why I am so confused as to what it could be.

From what you say I conclude the troubling condition is every time you stand, not just occasionally.  That being the case I'd recommend you talk with the doctor who treated your Lyme disease. S/he should be able to address any relationship between Lyme and heart problems.

Did you have the current heart symptoms when you had your heart test?

I have the same sensations when I do stand from a sitting position.  I also feel the same sensations when I lie down quickly.  Sometimes I feel both spectrums of sitting and standing because I'm very aware of my heart beating. It does feel like a PVC when my heart is slowing down, or speeding up.  This does sometimes scare me, as it would to a lot of people.  I guess the question to ask is if you are an active person or not?  I hope this may help...
