I am glad you are going to see a doctor, he will help to ease your mind.

I am sorry you are having so many worries and anxieties over your heart rate and such. It sounds like you are having lots of panic attacks, and these in turn are causing the fast heart rate and the flutters. You probably notice them more when you are sitting due to the fact that you are not doing anything to distract yourself, and sometimes, the heart will calm down when you are walking, etc.

I have anxiety attacks, and it is a vicious circle, the more I worry, the more heart flutters, I feel, the more heart flutters I feel, the more anxious I get, ugh, it is awful.

I really do not think you will need surgery on your heart, try not to think the worse, I know that is easier said than done, I think all of us, or at least most of us, tend to think that way, wonder why?

You are not alone in this, this is a wonderful forum, and we are here for you and you can write anytime, sometimes it helps to talk about what is going on, it relieves stress, I know it does for me.

Now, try to calm down, watch something on TV that relaxes you or read a book that you enjoy, or, do whatever makes you feel happy; and again, feel free to write us anytime, we ARE here for you. You will be fine.

Hugs
Susie

Hi Jody, I've been having a similar problem for three months now. I was so scared that I slept sitting up for a week, since the palpitations would happen during night as well. But I felt much better after taking Lexapro and Xanax; are you taking any antidepressants? Positive thinking also helped a lot. every time you're having an episode, try to think positively, take very slow and deep breaths through your your nose and exhale through your mouth. By the way what did the EKG show? If it didn't detect anything heart related, try to think about that as well during your episodes; it will help a lot, you'll see.

Get well soon,

Harry
