Heart problem or just out of shape.

I went to the gym and rode the bike for 35 mins. I had been doing this for 3 months prior. I have lost 50 lbs since Jan. and I was taken off Norvasc because my BP was low and was causing fatigue problems, and problems with GERD. Now when I go and ride the bike my heart rate goes up slowly to 140 BPM but when I quit my heart rate stays at about 100-112 most of the day. I feel no other problems (lightheaded, or pain in my chest for E.G.). I do take hydrochlorthizide for BP but my BP is 119/70. I am feeling a little anxious about it, but other than that I feel fine.
I also had a Nuke stress test a year ago, and an EKG about a week ago and all was normal So I don't know what to think.

Sounds like you may be overtraining.  Your heart beat was fine when you were on the Norvasc?  Or maybe your heart is getting used to being off of medication.  May want to lower intensity or duration on bike or try switching up exercise and try some walking or other aerobic activity.  You may also want to take a day off for recovery.  Your heart rate should recover quicker than it sounds like it is.  May want to look into Heart Zones training.  Sally Edwards has a good book on this.  Basically, she divides your heart training rate into 5 zones and most aerobic benefits are found in zone 3, 70-80% of your target heart rate.  80-90% should be used if you are in good shape.  This does seem to be helping me with my exercise and I have seen some improvement in heart rate and blood pressures using this system.  Get yourself a heart rate monitor and use for training (I use a Polar because it does work in the pool).  Sounds to me like you may be overtraining, as you can reach high heart rates on a bike.  Try a long walk once in awhile.  Hope this helps and best wishes with your exercise and healthy lifestyle.

I'm not likely of much help, but I'll make the first response to get the "ball rolling".

I've heard it said there is no such thing as a BP that's too low, but your 119/70 looks like one low enough to make your heart pump harder, i.e., to get the oxygen around when you exercise.  I know when my BP is low I feel a lack of strength.  My BP runs a bit low because I take Toprol to slow down my HR.
