Hi,

r9c
Hi,i am 24 years old male,2 months ago,i keep expericing chestpain, numbness in arms, light headness and shortness of breathe too,so i went to the A&E dept they did multiple ECGs,chest xrays ,which turn out fine, just sinus tachy, then blood test came out fine, but the thing is till today i kept expericing palpations daily, sometimes shortness of breathe and light headness,i did an echodiagram last month which came out fine, then a stress test which i did for 5 mins then i stopped because i feel out of breathe but the doctor says nothing abnormal ecgs during my stress test and he indicate my blood pressure respond during stresstest are great. So i am wondering if all those test came out fine, wat could be the causes of daily palpations and shortness of breathe, lightheadness.could it be caused by Anxiety? because one doctor says if could be caused by anxiety but my symptoms tend to last the whole day.Recently i do experienced a lot of palpations again, did another ECG,it show abnormal, but with title normal sinus rythm, the doctor says its nothing much significant, just oder me another stresstest.

The echo evaluates the structur of the heart and the EKG evaluates the electrical systems of the heart. There are several things that can change the look of the EKG including, but not limited to, the breathing pattern of the patient, electrical artifacts in the room and a tech who does not place the elecrtrodes in the proper place, which means all electrodes on the chest, their placement, should be FELT for, not just STUCK onto the chest. It is ver important that the electrodes be placed between the ribs and not on top of them. The one thing that bothers me is that someone your age should be able to be on a stress test for more than 5 minutes; at that point you have just gotten into the second stage of a Stress test. As a rule someone who has a 5 minute stress test usually has severe heart disease and by all of the testing done, you do not have that going on. I would be checking for problems in the lungs.

yes,i was told that b4 too by my doc,he mentioned a stress test would be effective if one had any blockage artery.i think both echo and stress test are a lot better than ecg.i tink i just take the stress test again, just to make sure.how abt echodiagrahy? Are they were realiable enough to rule out any heart problem?

I would get the second stress, see if there's any changes from the first one.  That's always reassuring info.

Do not read too much into EKGs.  They false-positive and false-negative all the time.  It's a good starting point but not perfect and open to interpretation.  If you look at machine analysis and have two doctors look at a borderline EKG you will receive 3 different opinions.

Yes,i have done an echo and stress test 2 months ago at the cadiology department which came out fine, till recently i am still experincing these palpations, shortness of breathe and chest discomfort,so i went to see a doctor had another ECG done, which came back sinus rythm but below it show abnormal ecg,the doctor says the ecg looks okay but some wave point not sure wat she meant, are a bit higher than normal,so she requested for another stress test again.Just a little worried because of the recently abnormal ECG,all though 2 months ago i have passed both echo and stress test.
I am just a bit worried and i know anxiety can cause all those symptoms i experienced lately but should i get another stress test or echo ? i talked to my doctor who did those test 2 months ago,he said its not necessary because echo i have done show my heart structure are fine and pumping ability of the heart are okay as well, did the stress test and which no abnormal ECG are found and good blood pressure respond are also indicated during stress test.but still worried about the 2 days ago, abnormal ECG.

What you're describing can be attributed to a few things.   Anxiety/panic or heart issues fit most of the symptoms.  Since heart has been ruled out that leaves you with pursuing anxiety / panic as a cause.
