High Pulse

High Pulse

I have asthma. I thought everything was going well with it, so stopped taking my 250mg Advair.  Everything was fine for about a month.  Then Spring came (I live in Bakersfield), and I went to a friends wedding.  I had an asthma attack, where the doctor told me to stay on the asthma meds, and gave me a few more.  I now am having blood pressure and pulse issues.  My heart rate goes as high as 160/110, and pulse around 130.  Is goes up and down. I have been having a lot of stress, and this worries me even more. I have been going to many doctors, and can't come up with a solution. I haven't been going to work, because I feel dizzy, head hurts, disoriented.  Any ideas on why this can happen? I am 30 years old, healthy, slim, female.  I used to work out, but once breathing and heart problems kicked in, I stopped.  I got engaged 3 months ago, and am planning a wedding, leaving my hometown to live with my fiancee.  I am sure that stress has a lot to do with it, but want to see if there is anything I can do.

Thanks

My money is on your asthma meds that your B/P is out of control as well as your pulse.  Asthma meds are notorious for this. I do not know if you are seeing an allergist or your family doc but its pretty obvious that the meds are totally messing with your system and my bet is that they have to be changed out because you are in a dangerous situation with your B/P so high and your pulse rate soaring.  Your meds are effecting the adrenaline in your system..what i would do until you can talk to an allergist is the google out the manufactureres site...look up your meds and follow the instructions until you can get some help with this and look for side effects or adverse reactions on the site.  I don't know if its so much stress as it is having the wrong reaction to the meds.  Again if its your family doc call a specialist....they know the newest and meds w. the least side effects you are way too young to have hypertension like this..being in Bakersfield you are close to some pretty great medical facilities...i am north of you in the Wine Country...again my bet is the meds and you have to be proactive and not stop until you get the solution..you have too much to look for to to become a statistic because you gave up...find a good allergist and if one prescribed these meds to you get a second opinion with a doc that is not affiliated with yours..sometimes docs tend to protect one another if they have a relationship..good luck with this and Medhelp has a great allergy site as well and i bet someone can weigh in on this for you that went thru the exact same thing..its pretty common it think..good luck to you and contrats on the engagement!!!!
