Holter Report question

I have had two 24 hour holters in the past 8 months for frequent pvc's. When I received a copy of the latest summary I noticed something about the monitoring period.
The first report said it was for 24 hours and 0 minutes, suspended 2 times for 8.5 hours. On that report I had 74,887 QRS complexes and 11,200 pvc's or 15% of total beats.
The report I just received said it was for 23 hours and 21 minutes. 114,175 QRS complexes and 21,769 pvc's or 19% of total beats.
I was concerned about the large increase in the number of pvcs, of course my cardio wasn't, but am I reading the reports correctly and the first monitor only recorded for 15.5 hours?

Thanks for any help!

Thank you, it all makes more sense now. I had been trying to figure out what could have caused such an increase in the pvc's and then I saw the report and noticed the big difference in total number of heart beats.

I almost wish I could go back to last fall when I was blissfully ignorant and thought I had muscle spasms in my chest! Mine don't feel like the big flip-flop, just a heavy feeling.

I hope you are doing well, thanks for the confirmation!

Yes, that seems to be what happened.  I'm wondering if the battery died or if the wires became disconnected.

During the first holter, your averagenumber of beats per hour was 4831 (74,887/15.5)
During the second holter, your average beats per hour was 4919 (114,175/23.21)
Overall, your beats per hour were very close during the two tests.

If the first test had recorded for the entire time, you would have had similar results.

I hope that makes sense.
