Holter findings- do I need to see a cardiologist?

Holter findings- do I need to see a cardiologist?

Hi, I've been having palpitations for five or six years now.  I recently underwent 24 h holter monitor and Echo due to fatigue, and anxiety among other reasons.  The echo showed mild murmur and the technician mentioned that it is due to a leaky valve which was nothing to worry about!! I don't have any more information than that.  The results of my holter were deemed as normal with no significant arrythmias.  I remain concerned however, as I don't feel all that normal when I get these palpitations.  Just wanted to see if anyone can make sense out of these numbers from my Holter and provide me with further insight into this issue:

Total beats:  118925  (944 not normal);  Avg heart rate:  82 bpm

Ventricular Ectopics:  776 (< 1 %)

VE runs: 30;  Couplets:  113;  Bigeminys:  97;  Trigeminys:  66

Supraventricular Ectopics:  168 (130 bpm):  628 (< 1 %)
Bradys (< 50 bpm):  0

ST40  Avg: -0.17
Min: -1.8
Max:  3.3

Heart rate:  Avg 82 bpm
Min 60;  Max: 130

No pauses noted

Please let me know if you think I need to get a second opinion from an expert cardiologist.  Many thanks for this wonderful forum.

Not sure what medical advice you had on your tests, was it from a primary care doctor, not a cardiologist?  It seems that's the case.  If so, my reaction is the PC doctor should be able to give sound advice on the results.  I don't find anything particularly alarming about the numbers you give, based on a limited knowledge on my part.

Minor heart valve leakage is quite common and is usually benign.  Such a condition should be checked every few years, perhaps every 3-5 years I think, to be sure the condition is not developing into a problem.

My 24 hr holter monitor results
Avg Beats 47     Ventricular ectopics 77    Supraventricular ectopics 53

Pauses 2343  Brady runs 185
ST40 Avg -0.14  Min: -0.7   Max 2.1
ST Slope avg -0.67  Min:-2.0  Max :07

I continue to have palpitations and chest pains..My doctor said my heartbeat gets low but all is normal. My Exercise Stress Myocardial Perfusion Scan results below:
Impression:
1. This was an abnormal mocardial perfusion imaging study demonstrationg a small fixed defect of mild intensity in the anteroapical wall. No ischemia was noted
2. This was a nondiagnostic exercise stress test secondary to the baseline EKG. The patien had no symptoms during the exercise stress test.
3. The TID is normal at 0.99

Recommendation: Continue Medical Therapy

My doctor stated this test was normal also and I don't understand because under impression 1. abnormal myocardial perfusion imaging study demonstrating a small fixed defect of mild intensity in the anteroapical wall.

Just wandered if I should see a Cardiologists..I know I have some Mild Mitral Valve & Tricuspid Valve Regurgitation as well according to a study I had a couple of yrs ago.
