Thank you so very very much again. You are a trooper. I saw my doctor today and asked him to explain the holter monitor results and he said that instead of ventricular pvcs I have pacs. He said that on the 24 hour monitor I had 1,788 episodes of pacs. He told me that comes from the top of my heart and they are benign but they are bothersome so he gave me a prescription for the pacs but after I looked at the med it kinda scared me it sounds kinda dangerous so I dont know it is called Cordarone but he gave me the generic brand because my insurance doesn't pay well on brand names. I read about it on the Med Line so I don't know. Do many people take these kinds of drugs. Long ago I took Inderal but had to quit that. I am on xanax for the anxiety and antidepressants for my depression. My depression is an inherited thing anyway just thot I would ask about the taking of the cordarone. thanks again
The Magnesium in the Natures Way forumula is magnesium oxide/citrate/aspartate.
The Calcium in the product is calcium carbonate/citrate.malate.
The complete name of the product is "Natures Way" Calcium and Magnesiuim Mineral Complex.
If you get it from a health store, it will be close to 10.00, on line, it is 4.46. Here is the link directly to it: http://www.vitacost.com/Natures-Way-Calcium-Magnesium-100-Capsules?csrc=PPCADWLT-calcium_and_magnesium&s_kwcid=calcium%20and%20magnesium|1742940731#IngredientFacts.
I live out too, but, we are blessed, there is a Safeway right behind us, otherwise, I would have to drive over 25 miles to get to a grocery.
Let me know if I can be of any further help.
God bless you too and hugs
Susie
Wow thanks for the load of info I have to go in for a doctors visit tomorrow so will get a chance to get maybe the pomegranate juice at the store. We live out in the country so getting in to the store is a once a week. I will check at the health store for the Natures Way. Is this magnesium oxide or gluconate? I will also go to the online store you mentioned. hugs and God bless and keep you.
Potassium will definitely help with the PVC's so will the magnesium. I have never heard one report about the magnesium causing unbalanced chemistry in the body. Lots of docs do not study vitamins and minerals and they have no clue at all as to how they work. My main doc is a Naturopath, and believe me, she highly endorses the magnesium AND potassium, both are also great for other things as well. Give them a try and keep at it for at least a few weeks, I think you might be surprised.
Hugs
Oh yes, make sure the magnesium is in correct proportion to Calcium. I take a great one by Natures Way and it is in the correct amount. Take 3 caps in the morning and 3 caps in the evening, the evening dose will also relax you and help you sleep. The total amount for the day will be 1000 mg of calcium and 500 magnesium, this is the best dosage prescribed by Naturopaths and docs that know what is going on. You can get Natures Way on-line from a company called Vitacost, they have the best prices anywhere and carry all name brands.
For potassium, I would start by drinking Pomegranate juice, this is loaded with this mineral, plus, a great anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant, Langers is the best brand, it is organic and pure, no sugar added, just the fruit. It is so tasty too. (LOL, that just sounded like the I Love Lucy episode where she was advertising Vitametavegamin)
Anyway, I hope this helps. You can always get a potassium supplement and add it to your regime.
Thank you so very very much for writing to me. I really need the support right now. I am hanging on to the good Lord and with knowing and visiting with others who have the same problem it helps so much. I dont feel so alone. I will go and join the anxiety list thank you thank you for telling me about it. I have a question if you know or maybe someone else can tell me. I was using magnesium for the pvc's but when my doctor knew I was taking it he said that magnesium could cause problems in the chemistry of the body and has anyone else had their doctor say that? Also the potassium will that help? I would appreciate any thots on these questions.
I have them too, some days I will not notice them, and others, I sure do. I hate that "fluttery" and "tickling" feeling I get in my chest and throat. Sometimes it feels like my tummy is dropping.
For me, anxiety is a big factor as is digestion. I have a hiatal hernia, and this will cause my PAC's to act up when I eat or drink water.
I have been told that mine are benign too, but, they still scare me silly.
I am also a member of the anxiety forum here, there are lots of folks who have these skipped beats there. You might want to join this group as well, they seem to sort of go together.
Thank you Jerry for your comments I do take 1/2 of an aspirin everyday. What I mean by feeling or being aware is that I feel the beats in my chest or maybe it is that I can feel the beats when they skip sometimes they are very light and then sometimes make more of a thud or skipped beat like it stops then starts again. No I don't take my pulse this is something that I feel. I also may be so keenly aware of it also because I can feel it. It is a scary feeling even though I have been told that I need to just ignore it but it is so hard to do that and I know I do have anxiety. I have also noticed that when it is bad that sometimes after I eat I feel it start again. I dont know I just know that I would love to have them go away and my heart be peaceful again.
Anxiety will cause heart rhythm symptoms in most of us, everything for stress feelings in the chest to strange beats.
You seem to say you are very aware of the irregular heartbeats, does that mean you feel them coming from you chest, or do you have to feel for your pulse with your fingers? Is the beat heavy/hard, or just irregular? Can you concentrate on something enjoyable or at least distracting and no longer feel the heart beating? If yes, then I think anxiety is what you have to control.
There's much to be said for the heart benefits of aspirin, so if you can take that without any problems my may want to consider doing so and then try to convince yourself that it helps. I take 1/2 of a regular aspirin every morning with breakfast and I think it adds to my "peace of mind". I take other heart medications too but somehow the general benefits that have been associated with aspirin seem to work the best in comforting my mind.
