How long do I have to take beta blockers?

by worried784, Jun 05, 2008 07:47PM
I have Inappropiate Sinus Tachycardia, high blood pressure and worry a lot. I have been taking beta blockers and they have lowered my heart rate but I hate the side effects.  Do the side effects go away, or, do they get worse?  How long does one stay on beta blockers?

I took beta blockers for my IST for years. I finally decided the blockers made me feel worse than the IST did! I suggest you talk to your doctor about trying lower dosages or even weaning off. If it won't endanger your health, it might be worth it.
