How often can VF occur?

How often can VF occur?

During a normal exam of my ICD yesterday, I was told back on JUly 13th at 6AM I had gone into VF with HR over 250bpm, I was asleep and did not even know I had an occurance. Now that I have been told I am concerned about frequency. My ICD was put in 4 years ago and up to now never has been required. Dr said this incident went on for 24 sec and was only a few sec from shocking when normal rate came. I checked my diary and I had done strenous cleaning the day before, using ajax cleanser, for a few hours. I read that some of the clorine chemicals can force VF. Has anyone heard of that? Also, does the fear of the unknown ever decrease? I am anxious that my heart will go into VF again, but I don;t know when. My driving provledges have been suspended for 6 months, so I am really concerned.
Please offer your input.
Thanks
Frank

Do you mean VT (v-tach), not VF (v-fib)?

Sorry for two different post, I hit send by mistake! LOL!

Before my ablation, I had several VT events. Mine was sustained VT lasting anywhere from 35 beats to 42 beats. When my h/r starting going in VT, that is when it was decided I needed the ablation. As far as I know, and if I'm wrong someone can correct me, but I don't think you go in and out of VF(v-fib).

I think it depends the original of rhythm coming from.  I only know mine one.  When I have AF, it'll travel straight down to Ventricle.  I have my av node ablated.  Unfortunately (trouble maker grows) or may be forturnately (not pacemaker dependent), an accessory pathway grew during the heart block.  Now when I have AF, it goes down to ventricle 100% and become VF.  I also got SSS.  I didn't have ICD, only a 2 leads pacemaker can pace it out.  The pacemaker sometimes will pick up 2 beats late.  A cardiologist told me I was in VF, pacemaker is pacing it out at the moment.  (No wonder my chest like a battle field).  ECG done an hour ago, I was sitting at the waiting room to see him......  Me in VF?

I understood Ventricle Fibrillation to be fatal... unless intervention stops it.  Seems that's not the case, it can stop on its own.  I have AFib and untreated with BB I go in to a low-grade tachycardia, perhaps 130 bpm at rest.  So I guess less than half the AFib signals get through.  With Metoprolol at 100+ mg per day my rest HR is under 100.  And I lots of discomforting dreams "free".. a side-effect I think of the BB that I'd like to get relief from.

So, I guess I have some experience with VT, but not VF.

I'm with you Jerry. I was always told VF was fatal unless you had immediate intervention. I've never heard of going in and out of VF. My a-fib, would turn into V-tach, and that was a concern. That is why I had the ablation.
