I am having frequent PVCS and a run of Wide Complex Tachycardia, what could it be?

Hi all heres the low down, about two years ago I was a strong athlete playing football and baseball in High school. I started developing shortness of breath, chest pain, and a fast heart beat. I got very concerned and my mother took me ino the ER. There the doctor told me he heard a murmur and said you need to go to a cardiologist. My mother and I came up to Kentucky from florida so that my grandmother who lives here could get me into a good doc. Which she did, and I thank her so much for this but surpassingly that didn't tell me much. I was diagnoses with mild mitral regurg. with no prolapse or inflammation at all. Also they told me I have PVCS that are benign the doctor told me if I wanted to I could probable be an olympic athlete, I assured him hes crazy because I feel horrible, well these symptoms lasted about a year I quit sports, was forced to do school online and finally went to a different cardiologist this month. He is so helpful and he put me on a 30 day event monitor since then it is showing frequent PVCS and a 4beat 6beat and 3beat run of Wide Complex Tachycardia. My doc made me come in and has asked me to do a tilt table test, but he says my palps are not life threatening that they are benign and not caused by my mild Mitral Murmur! He states that the tilt table test will help him to put me on the right medication but that my resting heart rate is 60 that my bp is usually decent and that he sees no signs for concern. I asked him if it is VTACH and will it kill me and he said no no you are going to be fine and I know we can fix your problem. He seems to think that I may have Orthostatic Intolerance!

So here are my symptoms-
fatigue
anxious
palpitations  (with any kind of emotional or physical stress)
short spurts of rapid heart beat for( like 2 to 5 seconds)
muscle weakness
lightheaded
dizzy
chest pain
arms feel heavy

P.S. I do not drink alcohol. I do not smoke. I stopped caffeine a year ago I was addicted to caffeine for years before and drank colas constantly but have had no caffeine in a year! I used to work out every day and I am still very very strong but have not been able to exercise in months and months :(

If you read the Dysautonomia forum here or visit the dsyautonomia information network and the national dysautonomia research foundation; (the links no longer work so you have to google them) there are alot of useful tips and info on what works and what doesn't...but for some of us nothing helps.

I've used meds (Midodrine); compression hose, abdominal binders, salt and water loading, tilt training, and I even have a pacemaker/icd and it hasn't stopped my fainting episodes.

Getting all the tests done so you know what you're dealing with is importnant and can help in what treatmetns may work for you.  Also, do some research on OI there's alot of info out there and going to a Mayo or Vanderbilt would be beneficial...the main person to see though is Dr. Blair Grubb - google his name and you'll find his number; it takes awhile to get in to see him though.

Dysautonomia used to be a relatively unknown condition, but in the past years they're learning so much more about it and more people are being correctly diagnosed.

Thanks for your help, it makes me feel a little better to see that someone has been going through this at a young age as well, I am sorry to hear about your sickness though. I do have dizziness very often and my bp can be high and it can also be very very low it has been as low as 110 over 45 the bottom number is always low except for when I get excited. I do often feel like I am going to faint but then I lay down and usually feel somewhat better. I am so scared of the tilt table test I am scared to faint, but I know it must be done I want to go to the Mayo Clinic so badly but am not sure if I can. Also what are you taking medication wise? what do you do to feel better? Any tips?

I have OH & OI also and other conditions in the Dysautonomia umbrella.  I;ve also had arrhythmia's and fainting episodes since I was 9 and have episodes of different things pretty much daily.

A tilt table test may tell them if you have it or not but I have read some patients do not get a positive test result at first.  Do you have any problems with your bp, dizziness or fainting episodes?

I would suggest you getting your TTT done; get the results and see what it says.  If you don't get any answers from the dr then I would find another doctor; maybe go to one of the large clinics like Vanderbilt, Mayo or Cleveland Clinic.

Here's some info in the Dysautonomia forum here http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Neurological-Disorders/Autonomic-Dysfunction--Dysautonomia-Index-Page/show/857?cid=196 and if you visit www.****.org they have alot of info about Autonomic Dysfunction also.
