I think it's called "hijacking a thread." Tsk, tsk. PVC's cause that strange pause sensation in the heart beat but the heart keeps ticking along. I have PVCs and PACs all day long. On the really bad days I feel a bit tired. I do hope you find someone to help you. Don't forget that stress and worry will just aggravate the situation. Take care.
not on my dime go pay your own 20 dollars
I have a question. When I went to the mental health forum that doctor does not feel SSRI's should be used to treat anxiety disorders because of their Stimulant effect but instead recommends klonopin and buspar. I am confused why my MD feels zoloft would help me (I have anxiety/panic disorder and palpitions. Can you give me your thoughts.
Thanks
I am sorry to hear about your symptoms but let me reassure that the what you are describing is far more common than cardiovascular disease in your age group. This sounds like a classic anxiety disorder. Without the exception of PVCs, it sounds like your work up is entirely normal.
In a way you are a victim of the medical system. Doctors are so afraid that they might get sued that they will do tests and repeat them even if they are normal. The other problem it is easier to order a test and say it isn't your heart than to take the time and tell you what it is. I can't say for sure this is the only problem because I am only reading what you have to say on the internet, but what you are describing is anxiety right down to the yawning which is a marker for increased vagal tone and also associated with the lightheaded feeling you talk about.
People like yourself often do much better on SSRI's like paxil or even low down tricyclic anti depressants to treat the anxiety. To get this process started, the easiest thing to do is go to your primary care doctor and tell him that you have an anxiety problem and you want to get control of your life again. You can do this and you can get much better, but you need to move beyond the fear that you are going to die from heart problems (you don't have them based on the work up you describe) and start working toward getting better.
Am I the first person to tell you this?
I hope this helps. Thanks for posting.
