I'm back to this forum - this time, pregnant!

Hi all,
Well, to recap, I used to post here while I was going through testing to find out what kind of arrhythmias I was experiencing.  They said I had PVCs, SVT, and NSVT.  The NSVT was the one scaring the pants off of me.  Drs determined that they were benign, that my heart was functioning well and to go ahead and try for a pregnancy.

Well, here I am now about 8 weeks pregnant.  My heart has been on it's best behavior!  I was really surprised, as they told me I should expect things to get worse while pregnant.  I normally would get a few runs of NSVT a month, and PVCs every other day or every day, and I've had maybe 3-4 episodes of PVCs and no runs of NSVT this entire time...until today.

Was sitting watching tv, and all of a sudden a run of flutters started.  That got my attention so I sat up and it went away - briefly!  A couple seconds later it started up again!  EEEEH.  I hope this is not the start of something bad.  I am really scared and hope my heart behaves through this pregnancy.  I don't have any idea what to expect and just feel like things could get bad any second.  I'd love to talk to anyone that's had experience with this during pregnancy and any reassurance that I'm going to be okay.  I've been reassured by doctors, but to be honest when I start experiencing these runs of arrhythmia I for the LIFE of me cannot stay relaxed.  I get so scared.
Thanks.

Just keep concentrating on the fact that your doctor says that they are benign....are you going to see a cardio? I think if you do, that will reassure you as well that everything will be ok.
When I was pregnant with my sons who are grown now, I had not had my ablation so I got many episodes of tacky. I will admit that it frightened me when I would have them but I made  it through 3 pregnancies, their births and now I am at the ripe age of 63 and still going strong. So, try not to worry!! But, it will make you feel better if you see a cardio. I hate going to the doctor's but on the other hand, I am the type who has to be reassured that all is well, etc.

Meh, just after I wrote this, got another run of v-tach.  Normally the most I get in a month is about 3-4 max.  I've had that many just today alone :-(

Thank you, Barbmag.  I know the best thing to get me through this is the support of others who know how crummy this is.  I can't keep going back to the drs as they've given me every test under the sun and told me 'don't worry about it'.  My OB did say that I should be seen by a cardiologist throughout pregnancy...

If only I could get to the point where, when I experience these, I say, 'oh...okay, no big deal'. I just can't get there yet. :-(

I am not pregnant but I can relate to the 'runs' of flutters...congratulations on your pregnancy...I just found out that my youngest son and his wife are expecting baby no 3..I total surprise but we are all excited. Now, just try not to worry and listen to your doctors. I know that's easier said that done b/c I have been there, done that. For me, it's paramount that I stay busy so that I do not dwell on my palps!!!! I wish I had more to say that would take all of your worry away and I am sure others will be able to offer more!!! Just know that we are here for you when you need it....and good luck and my v best to you!!!
