Is Sinus Node surgery dangerous and does it....

I just wondered how dangerous Sinus Node surgery is and if it can effect the longevity of your life after having it done and if it can possibly cause further heart problems in the future?

All surgeries have some risk, but I think catheter surgery (done with catheters through an artery) are among the lest dangerous.

You didn't say why you are considering surgery.  If the "problem" is minor you may want to consider living with it rather than take any risk.  Talk it over with your doctor.  

The worst I've read that I think can be a bad outcome of sinus node surgery is the sinus node shuts down and one then has to have a pacemaker implanted.  I'd guess, emphasis GUESS, that the risk of such an outcome is far below 1%.

I had my AV node ablated 10 months ago. I already had a pacemaker so the surgery was short and simple.  If you don't already have one, a pacemaker will be implanted at the time of the AVJ ablation.  The setup took the longest... shaving the groin, IV, placement of patches on your chest, etc.  Once the ablation starts, the procedure is only 30 min.  I was fairly coherent but felt no pain.  I had to lay on the table for another hour and then the doc tested to see if I conducted.  I didn't so they removed the catheters and off to recovery I went.  A couple of hours later I walked out under my own steam and felt fine.
