I have been uncomfortable asking my Doctor this question, so I am very thankful to have this opportunity. Thank you so much for what you do here.
Doctor, first a short history. I was recently diagnosed through a holter monitor of having afib. Apparently 30% of the time, my heart beat was irregular. I have had a heart cath and everything looked great. They are now treating me with Rythmol, metoprolol and coumodin. That combination isn't working well for me due to the fatigue. I am going back in next week for a recheck. Several years ago, I was also diagnosed with Sarcoidosis, which has been in remission for a few years.
My question is, does having had this episode at my age (48) necessarily affect my life expectancy? What are the long term side effects of this problem?
