Loop Recorder vs Pacemaker

Loop Recorder vs Pacemaker

I am 47 yr old female. I had angioplasty at the age of 25 for a 90% LAD block and have been stable since until March when I started having syncope episodes. I have 1 every month or so. Then my sisiter (11.5 mths older) started having syncope episodes. She has an event monitor and had an episode in which she skipped 15-17 beats. An emergency pacemaker was done for her in April. I then had an event monitor because of what happened to her and it showed an episode of "suspicious SVT vs atrial flutter with 2:1 block". A tilt table was done and passed (sister also passed her tilt table). What is the best course of action a loop recorder or a pacemaker?

I hope you get something from someone who has specific knowledge. In the meantime I suggest that there is not equivalence between a "recorder" and a pacemaker.  A pacemaker is an "active" device while (I assume) a recorder is just that, a recorder that makes passive measurements on the heart activity.
