Metoprolol and Fluoxetine HCL (Prozac)

I was diagnosed with PVC's 15 years ago and was put on Metoprolol 25 mg. I've now been diagnosed with depression and was prescribed Prozac 10 mg which I'm afraid to take now because of the drug interactions I've seen on the internet with these two drugs. Can I run into problems by combining these two drugs.

I can give you advice on how to take your medications.  I can tell you that I have many patients that safely take metoprolol and prozac (as well as other SSRI medications). I have not seen clinical interaction between these drugs. It is probably best to call your doctor to ask them if it is ok.

Thanks for the information. I assume that since my doctor just prescribed it would be okay but some of the information I've seen on interactions scared me.

I take atenolol 100mg daily , and also citalopram ( an SSRI) 10mg daily, no problems whatsoever. Hope you feel better soon. I'm bias with citalopram because of all SSRI  it is usually less likely to interact with other drugs and also has the least side effects profile, I feel like a new person since being on it.
