Missing Hear Beat

For the past two-three days I feel my heart beating [not all the time] in my throat. I took my pulse and noticed that my heart missed a beat several times in a day. I take beta-blocker - [Velorin 50mg] one tablet in the morning and one tablet  [Felodipin TAD 5mg] because I have high blood-pressure.
1. Is it serious?
2. Do I need medication?

Thank you,
John

Hi John,

I'm not a doctor, but I don't think this is serious at all.  What you're actually feeling is an extra beat and a compensatory pause (that's the part that feels like a skip).  It's kinda like your heart beat gets a little ahead of itself, fires off a little early, waits a second, and kicks back in.  Some people find that beta blockers help with the extra beats, others notice an increase (not too many) and some find no change.  Have your medications recently been added/changed?
