More Beta Blocker questions

Wow! My last thread got more posts than any other thread I posted about so here's another question: Do people on beta blockers have to stay on them for life? Can they eventually get off of them even if they have Inappropiate Sinus Tachycardia and prehypertension?

Also, can one take beta blockers and medicine for underactive thyriod?  The posts below state that thyroid medicine raises heart rate so why take one thing to lower heart rate and another to raise it?

Thanks

At 23years old  I was diagnosed with ectopic heart beats while undergoing ECG stress test. And high blood pressure a year later,I am 42yrs old now and have been on beta blocker for almost 20yrs.I know beta blockers are drugs of choice for irregular heart beats and lowering blood pressure.I have heard people using alternative medicine to control high blood pressure but not irregular heart beats or sinus tachycardia.I guess I have to stay on my medication for life as long as my symptoms persist.Except I have devine intervention. As per  combining thyroid medication with beta blockers, you might want to talk to your physician.
Take care.
