My father is complaining of irregular heatbeat after eating dinner every night.

My father is 80 years old. He is overweight and takes medication for high blood pressure.  He stopped taking his medication a couple days ago because it makes him very tired.

The hypertension medication is a beta blocker and also helps with irregular heart rhythm so I suggest getting him back on that while getting his doctor to switch him to a different beta blocker with less side effects, hopefully.  If he can't find a medication that is acceptable.  He needs to put on blood thinners to minimize the risk of stroke or dementia.

I think any reported irregular heart rhythm should be investigated, especially in the elderly.
