My heart..

Occasionally I have to stop what I'm doing and stand there focusing on why i feel the way I do and calm myself down. Sometimes my heart feels like its pumping its way up my throat..?

First thing I'd like to say it stopping and thinking about why you feel the way you do could easily lead to a serious problem with anxiety. Thats the biggest mistake I did growing up lol. Calming down and focusing on breathing is the best way to calm down if you think your dealing with anxiety.

If you feel the these feeling are happening first and not caused by over thinking or worring about stuff before the feeling, then I would seriouly let your Dr's decided after test's as to what might be causing your strange feeling's.

I was recently diagnoised with Inappropriate sinus tachycardia yet my symptoms over the past year have been strange and none pointed to tachycardia untill I got my self a HR watch for the gym that's when I discovered I was getting up to 185 just walking slowly. Since being diagnoised and put on ivabradine a lot of my strange symptoms have gotten a lot better. I had a lot of leg pain some thing that seem compleatly unconected to tachycardia yet it had gotten so much better since Ivabradine the only thing that makes sence is that my circulation is better now and before lack of proper circulation was causing the pains. I while I do get palpitaion, I did not even suspect or feel like my heart was racing.

Hi Kristy,
I totally agree with the above statement. The unique machine called heart is strong enough to last the whole life working 24x7 and at the same time probably the most sensitive organ within our body.  Think of a small excitement the first acknowledgment comes from this heart beating fast.  Anxiety is a bigger killer.  A check is the first suggestion and an assurance from the doctor should be taken in the most positive way.
