Need an opinion

My grandson has ventricular tachycardia.  The doctors have tried several medications and combinations of medicines but all have proven unsuccessful.  In between trying medications he has had several ablations but again they were not successful.  The doctors say they have not been able to reach the area of the heart (It's very deep inside the wall of the heart} affected.  They have suggested an alcohol septal ablation.  He is 13 years old and this procedure has been done on adults.  He has been a patient at Pittsburgh Children's Hospital and also at Boston Children's Hospital.  My question is Who and Where else has this procedure been done and has it been done on children.  They have told my daughter that the function of his heart is being affected.  They keep telling us his condition is very, very rare.   Very concerned grandmother.

My sympathy.  It is especially hard to deal with health problems in the young.

I don't know anything about the procedure but would consider looking on the Cleveland Clinic web site to see if they have any help/information.

My prayers for a full recovery for your grandson.
