Need reassurance.

I'm a 21 year old female with occasionally pvcs. Lately I've hardly had any of not any at all. They've dropped drastically since I started taking atenolol. Before atenolol I'd have at least 60 pvcs up to 600.

Recently had an echo done.. The tech said she saw mild MVP . Hardly even there apparently. But my doctor reviewed the echo and said he saw nothing at all. Is this even possible for one person to see something and one to see another? I've read scary things about how MVP can cause sudden cardiac death.... I just need someone to explain to me how MVP can cause cardiac arrest and if pvcs can turn into something more serious. Also because I get pvcs sometimes after exercise when my heart gets down to 120

My echo came back clean , EF at 60% . Holter showed nothing but pvcs. Great BP .

I am not a doctor mind you so this only comes from my own personal research but I think the issue has more to do with scarring than the actual mvp itself.  In valve issues the blood backs up and goes in places it shouldn't thus causing some possible scarring and it is the scarring that can lead to reentry rhythms in the ventricles that can lead to cardiac death.  But with very mild almost imperceptible mvp odds are there isn't any leaking.  You may want to get a follow up echo in a number of years to make sure it hasn't gotten worse.  But because it is so mild you may have varying opinions on whether or not it is really present.  I don't think echos are exact science but reliable enough to see major issues and debatable for less serious issues.  Also, it is common to have pvcs during cool down after a work out.  They aren't any more concerning to doctors than unprovoked premature beats.   At this point it doesn't seem you have anything to be too concerned about but you may want to pose your question in the heart disease section where you might get more feedback on heart issues that aren't rhythm related just to see what others have to say.  But I think you can trust your cardiologist on this one.  Just try to maintain a heart healthy lifestyle and things should be fine. Take care.
