PACs Know No Logic

I'd like to growl.  And I'm going to complain.  I was sure I'd pinned down the cause of my PACs as hormonal.  They would occur 24 hours before ovulation and persist for three days after.  Clockwork.  I'd be prone to them triggering PSVT during this time, so I eased up on exercise, which is/was also a trigger.

Then everything changed two months ago.  I got NO PACs at ovulation.  PSVT went away completely (except for what I believe are brief 3 beat runs of it), exercise no longer triggered them, but eased them instead.  I thought...SWEET!  Then, 48 hours before my period, TONS of PACs.  And this time, they persisted for weeks.  I had my cardiology checkup anyway at this time and everything looked wonderful.

Then, they vanished 24 hours before my next period began, exact opposite of last time.  (!!?)

And now?  Now there is absolutely nothing going on with me hormonally, and they've come back.  I mean seriously, WTH!?

I will GROWL with you!!!!
Isnt it just crazy--trying to figure these things out?!?! Just when you think youve "got it"....
you find out you "dont have it"...
I notice mine during/around/before/after my cycle too. Im still trying to pinpoint them as well.

As we southerners say "you ain't just whistlin' Dixie!"  I have often marvelled at the no rhyme or reason to palpitations - just when you think you've got the triggers figured out, something totally different starts happening!  I was going thru a bad spell about a month ago when I was having lots daily, and they are normally cycle-related for me as well.  Well, I left a job I HATED and now they're gone - thank you, Lord!  I do get a couple a day but nothing like I was going through for a period of a few weeks when I thought I was stuck with these things for life.  It is very weird, and very frustrating!  I really hope they go away again for you soon.

Uh yeah, for sure... the heat makes mine agitated.  My Uncrustables cure was short lived :(
The cyle came and the palps came back right along with it.  I felt normal for a whole week out of the last 16 months.
Stay cool everyone!

I hear ya!!  Every time I thought I had it figured out, WHAM and a big dose of WTH!!!!  I think the title of your post is perfect!!  Hope they're not driving you too crazy.

Anyone else notice how the heat makes your heart a bit more fickle?  For whatever reason, the heat seems to keep my BP a bit lower and my palps a lil' bit agitated.  Hope there's a cool down on the horizon!

Have a great day everyone!

Yes! I would get palps that were noticeable to me, and usually came about with effort, on very hot days.
102 degrees predicted here today. They just updated it from their previous prediction of 100 degrees.
Yick.

mine are VERY logical....if you ever forget and think you are fine, they kick you in the *** to remind you.  It's the way of it.  It keeps us humble.

are you going through perimenopause by any chance?

by anacyde, Aug 09, 2007 01:16AM
Fearfactor, glad you got away from that job, I know how much stress bad ones can create.

Momto3, heat is a vasodilator, it lowers my BP too.  Also triggers the darn palps!

finetillthree, I feel that, the breaks are so short.

kit, yes, if I exert myself on a hot (particularly if humid) day, I definitely get more...as does my husband.

pvcqueen...LOL

Manhattan, I'm 29, I sure as heck hope not!

I'm in good company, it seems.  Thanks for helping to maintain the few remaining scraps of my sanity ;)
