I am 53 years old, female that recent EKG's show leftward axis, nonspecific inferior t abnormalities, possible anteroseptal infarct and an old septal infarct.  I also have sinus tachycardia, atrial tachycardia. I had an EP study that the dr tried to ablate and I almost died. A 45 min procedure turned into a 4-5hour procedure and had to be paddled back to life 3x. The dr told me that my heart went into afib once he went to ablate me.

Do you have any recommendations for me and can you help me figure out if these things are normal and not to worry to pursue further evaluation for ????

Thank you.

Let me respond mostly to bump your post back to the top of the list, I have not real helpful advice.

Sorry to read you had such a bad experience with an ablation procedure.  We all know that ablation is not risk free, but we all hope we're not in that 1 or 2 percent who have problems.

Ablation has been taken "off the table" for treating my AFib because the risk is too high considering the low level of symptoms I suffer.  Your case was all work in the right side of the heart, I assume, the lower risk side as that's the side the catheter enters from the artery/vein whichever (don't remember).

Again, your details are "over my head", but they should be discussed in detail with you by your doctor.  I know it is sometimes hard to get out of the doctor what you feel you need to know, but give it a try.
