PLEASE ANSWER---fast heart rate in morning

Hi all,

I know that I've read other posts where people have said that they get fast heart rate in the morning when they first wake up. I do this as well. Almost every morning, as soon as my eyes open, I can feel my heart beating fast. If I turn over or move in any way, it's even worse.  This doesn't come after a nightmare or anything.  Usually, if I just get out of bed and start moving around, it slows down.  It's like it gets fast if I sit still for too long.  Oh--and it is worse when I sleep in late---like on a weekend.  (and for those of you who want the numbers, it can range anywhere from 95-125 when I first wake up)

So...for those of you who have this problem, can you PLEASE share some reasons why you think/know this happens...and what you do about it when it does?  I just want some answers...I'm getting very weary with this, and every time I talk to a doc about it, they just say it is anxiety.

BTW---I have ruled out dehydration, hyperthyroid, heart disease, and blood sugar problems....

Thanks :)

I have this same problem and I have also been told it is anxiety. I tried a beta blocker but it only made me feel worse. I am scheduled to see a cardiologist this Friday.  If I find out anything I will let you know.
