PSVT (tachycardia), Sleeping rhythm.

I am 21 years old and possibly very slightly overweight.

Ok to start about a year ago I was diagnosed Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, when I was hooked to a EKG with a bpm of 290.
It has only happened when awake twice.

I have a new symtoms while sleeping that conern me and wondering if anyone shares similar symtoms.
While asleep I will wake up with a very rapid heart rate (guessing over 200 bpm) but I cannot move and feel as if my limbs are going numb, and get a very heavy feeling on my whole body, and feel as if I am shutting down (forced back to sleep). But If I conjure up all of my will power I can sometimes get myself to move and sit back up suddenly regaining my strength and heart rhythm returning to normal. Also I can feel a huge pulse through my body sometimes when just falling asleep or waking up.

I do have a rare Sleep paralysis and it seems related but never had that heart problem along with it.

Ever since this has started my right hand is often slightly numb or tingling.

Is there a link between my sleep and my PSVT? Do you think I was misdiagnosed?
Any information would be great.

I know isn't it scary when you wake up with rapid heart rate?  Your body feeling heavy is pretty normal because who knows how long it went on before you woke up and it taxed your body making you tired thus heavy.  Your hands feeling numb and tingly i think may just be anxiety related which is also normal in this situation...your body just reacting to what is going on.  If you think you are waking up w. a high heart rate i would keep a second hand watch next to my bed and take my pulse the second i woke up with this but better yet i would call your heart doc and ask them if you could be put on a holter monitor so that they can accurately read what is happening to you when you sleep........

I have zero knowledge about "rare Sleep paralysis", but assume that is what is causing the "paralysis", it is not caused by the high HR.

Best I can offer is talk with your doctor.  I do not suffer from a sleep paralysis, so it would really scare me if I woke up with a physical paralysis.
