I am sure this has been discussed before but since I'm relatively new here I thought I would ask it again out of curiosity in trying to find out what my own triggers are. Have many of you noticed a difference in palps related to your fluid intake?
I think I read somewhere that the more hydrated you are the less you may feel them? I have given up chocolate .. alcohol and caffiene but still get them. I am about at the point of saying the heck with it and go back to having a candy bar and a glass of wine when I feel like it. Do any of you feel this is a self limiting condition? Meaning we choose not to do certain activities or things because of the anxiety over maybe starting to get palps?
Sorry if these questions have already been asked but any input would be appreciated... I was having runs of PVCs/PACs most of the night so my brain is on overdrive right now.
I pretty much had them regardless. But, a few things could put them into real motionMotion sickness Motion sickness less drowsy. For me, some of the culprits were: MSG, caffeinated soda, lack of sleep, large meals, some rich/spicy foods -- probably because of the digestive problems that brought on...)
I'm with ireneo, chocolate stays -- flip flops or not. : )
If I think a food is not helping the palps, I will eliminated it, for about a week or so then add it back in. I find with most thing moderation works for me, I just can't over do anything. I can't get that very full feeling. Oh yeah, chocolate is not good for me, I am allergic to it, but I still will have chocolate raisins or nuts. There are some things you have to have.
Last week I did a food allergy test and several foods came up as being significant, ones that I would never have dreamt of like beef. I don't get anything serious like anaphylaxis, but I do feel congested and my mouth itches a great deal of the time. I've had some other digestive concerns, but didn't think much of them because I've always been more concerned about the PVCs.
I too used to eliminate a food that I thought was causing a problem, but it didn't really seem to make much difference in terms of the frequency of my pvcs.
Now I know that there are several foods I should avoid not just one or two, I'm going to try to eliminate them all--faithfully. I could have been avoiding one but still eating another and therefore my symptoms wouldn't have changed. I'm excited by this new knowledge--will it help??--I don't know--but my medical doctor, the cardiologist and the EP can't offer anything other than beta-blockers, so what could it hurt!
I think it will help. For me anything that causes bloating adds to my PVC's. I know that if I eat to much yeasty breads I don't feel well. I still eat them just not everyday. I think your on to something that will help you. I don't know if it will stop the PVC's but lets hope it does!

I still have anxiety over eating in restaurants (unless I'm with family or close friends)...I am always fearful of an attack, but I'm working on it. Other than that, no real limitations for me.
