PVCS/PACS....Another Exercise Question

For those of you that get post exercise pvcs/pacs, do you sometimes have times they happen and sometimes they don't?

I have days where they are very frequent after exercising and some days completely absent after exercising. Same exercise performed (usually running)

"About 3 or 4 months into it, I got a cold.  Bad sinus cold, I'm sure it was viral.  The PVCs completely vanished!    Then, as I was gradually getting better from the cold, the 8th or 9th day, the PVCs gradually came back.  By the time the cold was gone, I was back to 6,000+ PVCs per day. "

I've had the same experience.  However, I've also noticed that my heart rate increases, sometimes dramatically, when I'm ill or after surgery.  As we know, PVCs can be opportunistic:  raising the heart rate often abolishes them, and conversely, they often appear when we're at rest and the heart slows down.

Check this out. I've been using a HRV app with my HR monitor. I was getting some weird results in my workouts and the numbers seemed off. I contacted the developer and he had the dr. look at my charts. He said that I had a lot of artifacts and they were throwing off my numbers. The artifacts he said were extra beats and that my extra beats occured at a certain heart beat range. The link picture is of a 30 minute run. The spikes the the R to R are the extra beats. But further in the run and the higher the heart beat you can see they go away. I wonder if this is the adrenaline getting worn off? I've been told that my stress test showed them but Ive never been able to look at the actual charts so this is kinda interesting to see.

This interesting too. Even though it correlates with lvh, which i have mild lvh, the part about autonomic nature controlling this.

Want to hear something that supports your viral theory?

When I had my major flare back in 2009, nothing helped.  No meds, no supplements, cutting out caffeine, nothing helped.   I was getting about 6,000 PVCs per day!

About 3 or 4 months into it, I got a cold.  Bad sinus cold, I'm sure it was viral.  The PVCs completely vanished!    Then, as I was gradually getting better from the cold, the 8th or 9th day, the PVCs gradually came back.  By the time the cold was gone, I was back to 6,000+ PVCs per day.  I asked my doctors about it, they thought I was crazy.  I wanted to get the cold back sooo bad.

Also, as you can see, I'm on this board a lot as a CL.  I see all the discussions.  And yes, other people have reported the same thing, that during a major PVC or PAC flare, they got sick and it went away, then came back when they got over the cold.

So yea, I have no idea why.  Obviously something to do with the immune system but who knows.

The major running theories are inflammation of the cardiac muscle, which is immune related.

Been reading alot about respiratory issues that can cause extrastoles whenever no other causes can be found. Most common hypoventilation, where you breath too shallow without being aware and Co2 builds up in your body. Whats interesting is most of the anti-anxiety medicines are respiratory depressants. And makes you wonder of those when they exercise and they go away since exercising forces you to breathe more constant. I have had instances of waking up with pacs, pvcs so it could be a form of sleep apnea or oxygen exchange in the lungs.

My PVCs go away when I exercise vigorously at the gym. I am 57 but get my BPM up to 150 on stairmaster and treadmill and bicycle. Sometimes stinking PVCs stay away 48 hours then slowly creep back. My doctor says: "Oh, it is just a "nuisance" problem, not dangerous, your PVCs are "isolated" and benign." They upped my dosage of Ativan and Tenormin from 50mg a day Tenormin to 75 mg a day now and from 3 mg a day of Ativan to 4 mg a day now.

Thanks for the responses.

I wonder if it has anything to do with something viral. Since your body is constantly fighting things and I recently learned you can be under attack by some type of virus and not even know it because your body does a more than adequent job at fighting it off. But I wonder at those times is when we see the higher incidence in premature beats since they can wax and wane so much

Yes, me as well. Some times I get a lot and others none.  Not sure why.  I don't think we will ever know.

Mine are the same way.  I go weeks where things are awesome, then get a flare for a few days.  Been going on since my late teens, early 20s.  I'm 47 now.  I had a massive flare in 2009 when I was 42 that was very very bad.  That settled down but lasted about 9 months.    I could not exercise vigorously until recently due to anxiety about it.  I actually started running which I didn't think would ever happen again.  I used to always have recovery PVCs, but that's changed, not getting any recently.

It's very odd.  All I know is that our bodies constantly change and I find comfort in that because when it's bad, I figure I have no where to go but up.
