I think that most people agree that when your anxious and stress about the abnormal rhythms it will make them worse. If I just lay around and keep checking my heart every 10 minutes and concentrate of listening and feeling every abnormal beat the are much worse. My doctor told me that my PVC's aren't going to kill me so mostly I try to ignore them.

The hardest time for me is at night when It is quiet and I can hear every beat! I have been downloading relaxation music from E Music for over a year now and I play it in the bedroom all night every night! I use a little MP3 player, that is plugged into a small stereo, it has over 600 cuts now on it and it plays randomly.

In the day time I were a POLAR strap and keep my heart in the correct Cardio Target Heart Rate  for my age. I can tell at a glance what my heart is doing. Also I am always trying to loose weight, which is what I think is at the rout of my PVC and Tachy problems. It is amazing what little activity can keep your heart at a good weight loss range.

Cardio Target Heart Rate, I spent the last 15 years in fitness industry and this information is what I learned from the pro's. for men you take 220 - your age  and for females you take 225 - your age, which determines the average maximum heart rate for your age.  then 55 to 65% of that is the best fat burn heart rate. Beyond that 65 to 75%  and 75 to 85%, you really need to talk to your doctor. You need to check with your doctor before starting any exercise program!

Most people who experience ectopic beats describe them much as you do.  They are not "skipped beats", but are premature beats, occurring before the next normal beat, resulting in a longer than usual pause before the next beat, which is then more forceful.  The sensation of the "skipped beat" causes what I call a feeling of dropout, sort of like getting the breath knocked out of you, but much milder.  It is that sensation that I think makes you feel as though you are faint.  For your oxygen level to drop enough to cause fainting would take a more sustained abnormal rhythm.

Hi pinkleeanne.

PVC - Premature Ventricular Contraction

I think you described it very well.

I tend to feel a slight light-headed feeling during the initial PVC.  It also feels like to me that I experience that light-headed feeling during the part where its taking longer to beat.

Pleasant thoughts to you.

What does PVC stand for? is this the same thing as eptopic beats where there is a extra beat then because the heart has done that beat it takes longer for the heart to fill back up with blood before it pumps again which causes the delayed reaction then when it kicks in again there is a couple of beats real close tog. sorry thats what my doc kinda said a eptopic beat does???
I think the part where its taking longer to beat is where the funny feeling kicks in which is not at all pleasent.
Sorry i am not very good and trying to describe the symptoms xxx

Mine are the same when they get to ever 2nd or 3rd beat or even ever other beat, I get dizzy short of breath and week. I usually go to my shop and turn on my oxygen tank on my cutting torch and breath the oxygen rich air and I feel much better for a half hour or so. I am not recommending this, but it does kinda prove the low oxygen hypothesis!

I have had severe PVC's for several months now with a  history of them for 5 years. I do get dizzy also I think it relates to the oxygen level in your blood. when my PVC's get real bad, like very second or third beat I get dizzy and short of breath and just have to lay down.
