PVCs in young male

Hello,

It seems within the past few weeks I have been having more PVCs than usual.  I am a 27 year old male who is perfectly healthy, aside from the fact that I take a beta blocker, Bystolic, for high blood pressure.  Two years ago, I was evaluated by a cardiologist.  I had ECGs, Echocardiogram, Holter, Stress test, Stress echo and everything came back normal.  I am scheduled to see a cardiologist in a week and a half.  I have been monitoring my blood pressure and it tends to hover in the 130-135 / 80 range.  I am quite worried about the increase in PVCs.  Am I at an increased risk of cardiac death?  Will I have a shorter life expectancy due to the PVCs?  Please help :-(.

Thank you.

My grandmother had a lot of PVCs for as long as I can recall.  She used to go to the ER when they got bad.

She died when she was 96, and it wasn't her heart that got her.

I can't imagine I would have heart disease.  I had all the heart tests (echo, ecg, stress test, holter) done two years ago and passed with flying colors.  I run 3 miles 3 times a week and lift weights as well.  Plus i'm 27.  Heart disease does not run in my family.

I imagine they are PVCs/PACs.  I feel flutters "skipped beats" periodically throughout the day in the center of my chest.

No, PVCs without heart disease are not of a concern. They do not increase your chances for sudden cardia death, they are just a total pain in the ***. I have them everyday. I have been through all the heart tests and basically told to have a good life. But these things can destroy you mentally if you allow them. Talk to your cardio about them and he will tell you the same. They are harmless.

How do you know what you are feeling is PVCs?

I should also add that I have GERD (acid reflux).  Can this be a trigger for PVCs?
