PVC's question

by rickym, Oct 20, 2008 12:49PM
Do we need to feel PVC'S in order to have them? 2 weeks ago they just stopped. I had just started on Blood Pressure meds and Omega 3 pills.

Yesterday I felt tired all day and I couldn't get any sleep. I felt my heart beat in my head and I got scared. I also couldn't stop thinking, almost like nightmares. My blood pressure was fine 128/86 not too high and heart rate was 48bpm, but I couldn't stop thinking.  Could this be the Atenolol acting up?

That does not sound like a typical side effect to a beta blocker.  Could it be anxiety from starting the new medication?  Have you had a cardio exam?

Yes Atenolol is a beta blocker, funny thing I have a book and it lists Atenolol as a social phobia drug. Well tomorrow I am seeing the Cardiologist to put me off this drug or give me something else. Another side effect I am having is mild chest pain.

Current BP:

120/78 - Pulse 57

I have a feeling its the Beta Blocker keeping my Diasolic rate high.
Man in just 3 months I can't belive how my life has changed. I wish I can be normal and go back in time.

Your BP looks great....are you concerned about it?

I definitely understand not wanting to deal with the side effects of the BB.  Why was it prescribed?

My family doctor put me on Diovan 80mgs and my Cardiologist put me on Atenolol 50mgs for my high blood pressure and extra heart beats.

All my tests came out excellent but after the 48 hour holter the cardiologist said I had a lot of extra beats.

The thing that really is confusing me is when I wore the holter I was not on HP medication, and once I started the medication I stopped having extra beats. So the Cardiologist put me on HP medication with the holter results.

I was fine yesterday, and when I took the Atenolol at night I started to have weird thoughts and I could feel my heart beat in my head.
