I've had them for over a year now and have decided that for me caffeine and chocolate or alcohol don't have anything to do with them reoccurring.
They come and go as they please, mine come in lump sums, I'll have them pretty bad for weeks and then BAM! They're gone and I've had them stay away for as long as 90 days.
The human body is a trip!
I am so glad that I have been researching pvc's. I can relate to you all! I am 39 with 2 children and scared to death. I have been having pvc's since February. My cardio told me they were begnin but when your heart acts up and you are having pvc's all day it does not feel begnin! I also have pain sometimes with mine. Anyone else? I am seeing another cardio for 2nd opinion in 2 weeks. Will post results then.
Thanks to you all!

Hi there,
Referering to your question about what is the best fish oil to take. I have researched many websites and I found this; Omega 3 from cold water fish. The world health organisation (WHO) recommends the minimum daily intake of 300-500 mg of EPA and DHA in the general population and if you have a cardiovascular disease you can increase it to 1 g daily EPA and 1 g DHA.
Have a nice day,
Amethyst
Wow, all these posts sound like me.EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING can cause a good flare-up. I have been having them again lately, especially before my period, man, I hate them. I am registered to start school June 22, and I think the stress is really getting to me. I am only starting with two classes as Summer is a short quarter and I am not used to being in school. I just wish I was not so scared and that these dang PAC's would not scare me so, lately, they are taking over my life, literally.
We're all in the same boat, huh? I take atenolol and xanax, too. Sometimes I feel like they come AFTER the stress. And I drink lots of coffee and eat chocolate a lot. I have tried giving up all my good stuff and they didn't go away so I started not caring and then they DID got away. I am a firm believer that it isn't the caffeine at all. It speeds up my heart, but the PVCs are here when they want to show up. Although, Wisconsin, I am like you....after everything, during everything, before everything. lol
hi! At this very moment, I have the darn palpitations. Ive had them for about 15 years...have had all the tests more than once...always told the same thing...they are "benign"....and just have to tolerate them. Mine are pretty well controlled by Atenolol...50 mg in the morning, and 50 at night. And Xanax for anxiety--because its a viscious circle--i have a palp..i get anxious...which causes more palps..and I get more anxious..and so on.. but sometimes I cannot figure the trigger. I do have tremendous stress in my life now ( mom has cancer...and im having marriage troubles) but Ive had these stressors now for about 9 months...and palps havent been too bad...
they started up this morning. And I try everything I can to avoid them. I dont eat ANYthing with caffeine ( unless its hidden in the food/drink)...I even gave up chocolate--thats how much I hate the palps. I noticed them increasing as the day went on...I hadnt eaten..sometimes that brings them on more...
so we just got back from eating a big meal..and now...wow. Hearts jumping around.
Wisconsin2007...you and I have things in common...I have all those triggers as well, and I live in Wisconsin too!
Hello again.....sounds like you got alot of "triggers".....for me it seems like after meals or if i am emotionally tired that set mine off. I'm glad to know that i am not the only one in this world that deals with this. I found this web site while googling and glad i did. Sometimes the people around me dont understand what i am going through at times. They think i should be this happy go lucky girl but when you have a heart skipping around on you being in a cheerful mood is hard to do. I recently went through major surgery (5/8/09) to have a basketball size ovarian tumor removed and just when i start feeling better this (pvcs) starts to happen! And believe it or not....pvc's are far worse then any surgery i just went through. Very scary....its hard to believe that doctors say they are "benign".
I think I've experienced PVC's after just about everything. After eating. After laying down. After rolling over. After sex. During sex. Before sex. Before exercise. During exercise. After exercise. Before a stressful situation. During a stressful situation. After a stressful situation. After being startled. After getting angry. After bending over. You name it.
I do experience my pvc's acting up after a meal! I hate them. I am Toprol XL 50mg. It helps, but doesn't not get rid of all of them. I have had them everyday now for 7 months. I wish there was something to totally make them go away.
thanks for your reply. i will for sure research before starting any supplements. i'm not one for pills anyways. i went to see my cardio and he also doesnt seem to concern with my pvc's. he did however order a stress echo for me but that wont be till aug. he said an option for me would be to increase my metoprolol but alittle concerned in doing that cause i'm afraid increasing would lower my pressure to low or heart rate too low. have you ever experienced pvc's acting up after eating a meal?
Fish oil isn't necessarily the answer. Please research it before you start taking it. However, I can tell you that I've been in your shoes and have figured out what triggers the heavy bouts of PVC's with me and I can limit those really bad days to about a handful each year.
