Palpitations?

For the past couple of weeks I've been having this strange heart beat sensation. My heart will be beating at a normal rhythm, suddenly it will beat really hard once that I can clearly feel it pound in my chest, then it will pause for slightly longer than the normal rhythm, beat hard once again then return to normal. It always happens in pairs like this. Not sure if I'm going crazy but I swear that the last couple of times it's happened there was two quick hard beats - pause - then a third.

When this started to happen I was getting these double hard heart beats every few minutes but now it's only happening like every two hours or so. I initially just shrugged it off as harmless palpitations but now I'm not so sure, I'm gonna see my GP in the morning but I was just curious if there is anyone who has/had the same problem or has a good idea what's going on here?

Without a doubt the most common cardiac complaint on this forum.  Search the last couple of pages, and find a large number of posts regarding PVC's.  It's always wise to see you physician, but most likely, these are benign, albeit annoying events.

Sounds like your experiencing PVC's or PAC's like me, or a quick Run of PVC's together. Go see your GP. He will send you for a blood test and 24 hour ECG. But, you should know these are normal and happen to everyone, some people feel it some don't, they can create a great deal of health anxiety which leads to more. Right now your probably thinking there might be something wrong with your heart. Don't worry

If your blood test and ECG are Normal and you are still worried, get an Echo-cardiogram, if that is also normal and your heart is Structurally normal then you have nothing to worry about, your palpation's will eventually stop on their own.

Take Care, Keep us updated.
