Pericarditis and arrythmias

My husband is 73 and has come down with Pericarditis.  He started having arrythmias recently.  Should we be concerned?  What is the rest of Heart Attack or Heart Failure with Pericarditis?

Pericarditis is inflammation of the pericardium,  which is like a sac, surrounding the heart.  Pericarditis can be caused by many things, heart attack, surgery, virus, etc.  I assume your husband is being treated appropriately by a cardiologist.  Usually pericarditis resolves without any long term effects.  It does not in itself cause heart attacks or heart failure.
