interesting theory on going gluten free, the subject is very prevelant on my dysautonomia forum also - which would link this "In the case of idiopathic gluten sensitivity all known symptoms are confined to the nervous system"

it works for some, but not others, and no harm in trying it :)

what helps me will not necessarily help you.
some people on here report that taking anti allergic OTC meds can reduce or eliminate their pvc's, suggesting some sort of allergic reaction can cause pvc's.

many people dont tolerate certain foods well, but still continue to eat them because they dont know that it's the food.
some types of food to experiment with or replace to see if you feel healthier and perhaps have less pvc's, are Lactose and Gluten containing foods.

people are said to often feel worse in the beginning when they cut out gluten, but feel better after a while. some sort of withdrawal thing.

i'm not sure yet if the gluten really makes a difference with PVC's,
but i think it's posible because gluten intolerance can cause: palpitations,  bloated stomach, etc.

"In the overwhelming majority of cases gluten sensitivity are asymptomatic or clinical presentation often occurs in followup to idiopathic instances of other diseases (e.g. peripheral neuropathy, autoimmune disease) "

"occur. In the case of idiopathic gluten sensitivity all known symptoms are confined to the nervous system"

I have around 8500 PVCs a day. I'm not on a beta blocker either, since they make me feel like a zombie.  I'm really curious to know what you find out about avoiding gluten.  Also, what types of foods are you avoiding? I have GERD (frequent reflux) and Irritable bowel syndrome, so I have to eat rather carefully anyway.  Please let us know if you find anything that seems to help, okay?

no_fate - that's one of the subjects from another post - cardiomyopathy is a bit hard to get accurate numbers on, because it can be caused from different things

the other thing is this; it basically depends on the dr - how he/she treats arrythmia's - I have seen a couple who have had an ablation with 6,000-8,000 pvc's that my EP said no way

At the moment i estimate i have around 6000 pvc's per day and don't take any meds for it as i can't tolerate meds.

I'm still experimenting with ways to get less pvc's.
Chewing my food better and avoiding certain foods has helped my stomach a lot,
resulting in less stomach gas and less pvc's.

Since 2 days ago I decided to cut out gluten (wheat) from my diet,
and yesterday I had very little pvc's compared to what I usually get... it is a bit too soon to know for sure it is the gluten though.

Lisa33167's electrophysiologist said that normally he treats 6,000 - 8,000 pvcs 24/hr period with meds,
and anything above 15% - 20 % of your total daily heartbeats with surgery.

This means that if you have a healthy heart and you have under 6000 pvc's in a day many of the specialists don't do anything about it,
unless the pvc's are of the harmful kind (most are not).

Pvc's of the harmless kind can cause cardiomyopathy in a healthy heart if you have too much of them though,
but to my knowledge at the moment it is still unclear how often pvc's actually cause cardiomyopathy in people with a healthy heart.

It depends greatly on the amount where they're originating and if you have any other factors involved :)

have you seen a cardiologist?
