Pvc's with procedure

Pvc's with procedure

I am a 36 year old female, non smoker, non drinker, had a baby 4 months ago so still carrying some baby weight.  I have suffered from pvc's, pac's and mild tachacardia for years.  The pvc's can be severe, sometimes thousands per day.  Had a echo a year ago, heart is structurally normal with mild regurg.  EKg also normal.  Holter monitor showed normal sinus rhythm and sinus tachycardia as patient has a high heart rate tenancy. Average heart rate of 100.  Total of 1121 premature ventricular contractions which included ventricular bigeminy and also a few ventricular couplets seen, no ventricular triplets or ventricular tachycardia seen. No long pauses.(this holter was done during pregnancy and my pvc's tend to be a little worse). I am having a colonoscopy and endoscopy next week.  I believe they use the conscious sedation, I think it is versed with something else. I am worried about something going wrong with my heart due to the PVC's during the procedure.  I am also concerned about the prep used.
1.  With a structurally normal heart is it safe to have the colonoscopy/endoscopy with the PVC's I am having?
2.  Is these PVC's dangerous with any activity, do I need to limit my activity?
3.  What is the chance of sudden cardiac death with the way my heart beats? (no family history of sudden cardiac death)
4.  My main concern is the prep, medication used, and the colonoscopy/endoscopy itself, it any of this contraindicated with my PVC's and my holter monitor results?
5.  If something did go wrong during the procedure, with my heart, could and would it be fixed with no effects, like what would happen if my heart stopped?(I am not talking about blood loss or anything only about my heart rhythm)?

1. yes
2. no if you have a normal heart, normal EKG.
3. very low if you have a normal heart, normal EKG
4. No contra indications
5. If you have a normal heart, there is very little risk of a heart complications during these procedures. It sound like your risk is the same as anyone other person having these procedures, but this is for your doctor to decide.

Just wanted to say I do not take nothing for my heart rhythm, I just deal with it.  I only take protonix for my stomach.

Echo from one year ago before pregnancy showed normal structure, estimated ejection 55-60% some mild regurgitation, mild pulmonic  insufficiency..... is that all normal?

Hopefully this can put your mind to rest
I too was petrified to have the colonoscopy and of the prep.  So much that I opted to NOT have the versed/fentanyl during the procedure.  I got through it without sedation.
My heart did not skip once.  I'm also told that the versed can actually calm the heart down and doctors are not concerned to use it on people like us with pvc's, pac's etc.

As far as the prep, again I was really worried.  I weigh 105 lbs.  I took the pills and it was a piece of cake.  4 pills every 15 minutes for I think it was 1 hour, then I repeated it once again.  I had no problems and believe me I was really really worried.

So, good luck.  You will be fine.
