RBBB

HI there I am a 33 year old mother of 1, and due to shortness of breath and one rather large palpitation I was made to have an ECG (I am in London) findings of that were normal sinus rythmn, (a bit fast but still within normal limits) and RBBB, now I am an ex smoker and asthmatic who has had 2 chest infections and bronchitis in the 6 months that I kicked the habit.

I am a little scared about this RBBB, I should say that I have never ever had any type of chest problems before and I smoked for nearly 19 years.
I am overweight yes but am doing weight watchers and have PCOS

Thank y ou

Right bundle branch blocks can occur in some types of heart disease or lung disease, but also can a be a very benign finding.  My 93 year old grandmother has had a RBBB for over 30 years.  A careful history and physical exam can help rule out lung problems and some heart problems.  An echocardiogram will also help evaluate for cardiac conditions that might cause it -- like a small hole between your atria or ventricles.  It is important to remember that this is also a normal finding in some people and has no significance at all.

The following link also discusses RBBB.  I hope this helps.  thanks for posting.
