Relation of Abdominal Bruit and Mitral Valve Prolapse

I have been diagnosed with an abdominal bruit, I have the abdominal pulse sometimes it can be quite noticeable. I am 5'5 and weigh about 125-130. I have also been diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse they discovered during the ultrasound test on the Abdominal bruit. Are there a relation to these two diagnosis. I had a cousin die from abdominal anerurism about 6 months before I was diagnosed. I don't drink but I do smoke about 1/2 pack daily. I have not had an ultrasound done in about 3 years due to no insurance coverage and as a single mother I sure can't afford the cost. What problems should I look for?

Many, maybe most, people with mitral prolapse live with the condition.  However, if it isn't stable then a problem condition can develop.  

I hope someone with knowledge of your abdominal condition can provide some insight.
