SVT and headaches

I was diagnosed with SVT back in July. I had experienced palpatations, dizziness, headaches, fatigue.  My docotor prescribed me 25mg of Toprol. We then figured out my svt was caffiene induced so I cut out caffiene and my doctor reduced my Toprol to 12.5mg and said I could eventually ween myself off.  So I was feeling fine no headaches so I weened myself off and about a month later I am now getting headaches/migraines almost everyday. I was wondering if these headaches are related to my svt and if anyone else has had this problem.  I'm so tired of waking up with a nagging headache everyday. Sometimes they are to the point where I feel nauseous. I started taking my Toprol again hoping that would help.  My next doctor appt in in Feb. Any insight you my have would be great.

The term SVT encompasses several forms of tachycardia that originate above the ventricles.  It could be that your condition might be the cause of your headaches, but I would doubt it.  I'd get heads on occasions shortly after convertingone, but I always attributed them to doing Valsalva; holding my breath and bearing down hard.

I decaffeinated several months ago, cold turkey, and I had headaches for several weeks aftewards.

Finally, this is an non-professional comment, so take it for what it's worth.  This is what I believe.  There is an electrical anomoly that exists in your heart that is still present.  Caffeine doesn't cause SVT.  The caffeine brought it out, as other stimuli can. A sudden adrenaline rush could cause an event.  I believe you still have the condition, and wouldn't be surprised if another event happened anytime in the future.

I have had SVT for 15 years. When the svt first started, so did the migraines. Every single time I have an event, I get a migraine afterward. My daughter has pots syndrome where she experiences episodes of her heart rate accelerating too & also always gets a migraine within 24 hours of it. I absolutely know the two are related & am frustrated that the medical field hasn't figured it out yet or why.
