I have SVT and im debating getting ablation done.Although my impulses are not bad since I have been on the beta-blocker. Im wondering if I should consider getting it done or just continuing with the medicine?

I personally think if your doctor feels that this is not life threatening, or it doesn't bother you, there's no need to put yourself through that. If the beta blockers are doing fine stick with them. But on the other hand the ablation can take it all away. With my own experience the ablation was unsuccessful twice, its not a 100% guarantee for good results. But it is also possibly worth a try.

Hey trice i read your post...i think when it comes down to it it kind of pops up at what you are most comfortable with.  I had an ablation four years ago and have never yet since had to deal with the SVT but i also had the ablation for a couple of other things as well.  Try to remember that the beta blocker is a treatment of a symtom and an ablation is a cure.  I suppose it depends on how you are tolerating the beta blocker...i take a low dose by choice of antenolol just as a safety net since the procedure and have had a couple of break throughs of the atrial fib but not the SVT....for me the SVT was eliminated thru the ablation....i kind of am warm towards both the beta blockers and ablation both equally....good luck with your decision tho.....
