I just read your note and got encouragement from it as I am afraid of ablation and ? problems after thanks
You gotta calm down Mary...i know how that feels because my heart rate went into the lower 300's and believe it or not it really didn't feel that much diff. then when it went into the 200's....yep the meds will help and take the edge off....and dont be scared of an ablation...they are no brainers if it is a simple cath ablation I had some pretty nasty SVT among other things that popped up outta no where and the ablation took care of it...no more SVT at all. I think personally all of us at the beginning looked for anything other than our hearts acting up when it first started...and yes stress and menopause can effect your heart but just let the docs do their thing....sounds like they were a cautious group by having you stay overnite in the hospital. I LOVED littlegreenmens post about winning 10G on a scratcher....he was right i think.....now that i think of it i don't know anyone personally that has even won more than 20.00 on a scratcher....relax a little Mary and don't let this thing run away with you...remember you have SVT it doesn't have you and the meds may just do it for you....we're here for you if you need to unload.......
But the procedure is a breeze.
SVT control via drugs is an possible option.
I say, Chill out... you're more likely to win 10 grand on a scratch off ticket than die by Monday.
Talk to your EP - TAKE NOTES. Ask questions. Get detailed answers and ask follow up questions via phone to your Doc.
Worst part of ablation...
1) laying flat still on your back for 6 hours afterward - get some knock you down pain meds for that!
2) the monster co-pay. maxed my out of pocket.
Don't stress, as you said "all good" 25 mg is a very low dose. Most likely stress related.
Seems like Dr.s always prescribe something..kinda like cover your kester.
