Second degree heart block and sleep problems

Second degree heart block and sleep problems

I am 63 years old and diagnosed with second degree heart block weinkebach type1 without symptoms. Some doctors believe the EKG is showing third degree at times. I have always been an avid runner and run 2 miles every day (7-8 minute pace). Even though I don't seem to have symptoms during the day when resting heart rate is around 45 bpm, I am having some arousal problems at night which is interfering with sound sleep when my HR drops to mid 30s for periods of time. I have tried to find any research publications about heart block causing sleep disturbances ( not apnea related per se). I am needing to make a decision soon about a pace maker which doctors recommend but I am still trying to tie all the pieces together in order to make a final decision. Thank you for your input.
