Serotonin Toxicity?

Serotonin Toxicity?

Hi, about 5 days ago I decided to take at total of 60mg's one 30mg at 9 in the morning and another at 5 in the evening, of Adderall (adderrall) XR along with 75mg of Effexor XR. I was prescribed the Effexor. About 5 minutes after I took my second capsule of Adderall (adderrall) I started feeling really weird, I thought I was losing my mind. My mind was racing with thoughts, I couldn't concentrate, Muscle spasm's, and fast heart-rate. It feels like everything is going very fast. I couldn't watch TV because I had no idea what they were talking about. The next day I took no more adderall (adderrall), and still experienced the same symptoms, so the day after that I decided to stop taking my Effexor as well, fearing possible Serotonin toxicity. Its been a little over 72 hours without the effexor and I cant see any relief of symptoms with the mental side of things. I no longer have the muscle spasms and fast hart rate but my mind still seems in a fog. What could this be caused by??
It seems like im able to comprehend whats going on with TV a little better, but maybe im just getting used to this? Im fearing any permanent damage.

id be surprised if you get many anwers on this particular heart rhythm forum concerning this question. That being said... Id say yes, you  _could_ theoretically be suffering from serotonin syndrome. Though its rarer than youd think tho.  Ive seen a number of people who fear they are suffering from this syndrome when in fact, they simply need time for the brain fog to clear, and usually its from questionable combinations such as SSRI's and MDMA for example.  In your case, if your condition does not clear, you should seek medical attention and ask for treatment with cyproheptadine if your physician agrees this to be serotonin related.
