Servere chest pains and racing pulse rate.

My mum occasionally gets very servere chest pains- tightness and pressure across her chest, which is very painful and very uncomfortable for her, and her pulse becomes very fast (without doing any sort of movement). These symptoms only last for about 4 or 5 minutes, then they go. These spells can be weeks apart. However as her heart rate races also when this happens, I am quite concerned...and she isnt one to make a fuss. Any ideas as to what this may be?

she needs to be seen by a cardiologist outside an ER or A&E (unless it's happening right then - get her to the ER) then see a cardiologist for a full cardiac workup...

She needs to be seen asap by a cardiologist. Next time it happens get her to the ER. I am not sure what the racing is but you cant mess around with chest pain.
