Sex and PVCs!!!

Sex and PVCs!!!

Ok, not trying to stir things up, and I have read a few posts about this topic in the past... feels quite strange to post about this private matters, but here goes - I was having a relatively good stretch, with no prolonged episodes of PVCs for the past month...feeling pretty comfortable with just the odd flip flop or flutter throughout the day/evening...however, yesterday afternoon, my wife and I tried to sneak away from the kids for a few minutes...a little spur of the moment adult time (if you know what I mean)...needless to say, we were having some fun when we were unfortunately stopped in our tracks by the kids calling for us...minutes later - WHAM - huge run of PVCs...lasted for about 15 minutes...every few beats. Heart rate was around 80-90bpm, and gradually slowed to about 65 bpm...Thankfully the PVCs finally stopped, and I continued with my afternoon...2 hours later, my wife and I found another window to finish our business, and again, right after we were finished...WHAM - PVCs. This time they felt like very erratic runs...sometimes I would get them every 3 beats (trigeminy), then I sometimes would feel several "hard beats" in a row. The sensation was actually most obvious in my throat, not my chest. I became very aware of every heart beat at times, and could really sense each beat in my throat. No pain, no shortness of breath, just the usual mind wandering...wishing it would stop. The episode persisted for several hours, and into the evening. I was at a family dinner, and tried my best to insulate my wife and kids, and extended family from my discomfort. After close to four hours, (and finally a glass of wine), it stopped. I have always blamed caffeine, alcohol, dehydration, anxiety and stress etc as the prime triggers, but as per several others, I am starting to think adrenaline is a huge issue...Getting excited, stressed, angry, surprised etc, may well trigger an episode. Has anyone else ever experienced this after sex? Also curious if any of you have had the hard beat sensation in the throat, not as much in the chest...or felt several beats in a row in the throat only? I couldn't tell what I was really feeling, as my pulse was seemingly normal, around 60-65 bpm, and didn't feel irregular, just felt each beat in my throat. Was I even having PVCs, or was my mind playing tricks on me?? Wish I was wearing a monitor!! :-))Thanks in advance for sharing any answers or thoughts on this topic. This was the first time I experienced the link with PVCs and sex, and I assume the 2 episodes in one afternoon can't be just a coincidence! Thanks.

Your symptoms are very similar to mine.  Sex, pushups, lifting, food tiggers such as caffine, coffee, spices, and of course, stress or anxiety, all have one thing in common.  The stomach.  I was diagnosed with a Hiatal Hernia. Stress and anxiety and certain foods produce the acid. The acid burns the top of the stomach and and eosophogus.  The damage then causes the hernia.  After that, pushups (sex) or any other stomach work can cause the stomach to move up, impact the vagus nerve, and wham... Arrhythmia.  You may want to google hiatal hernia or vagus nerve.  Good luck.
