Should I contact my Cardio Doc for a follow up?

Should I contact my Cardio Doc for a follow up?

I am taking 5mg Zebeta, 400mg twice aday Mag Ox.

I was put on this medication as I have experienced PAC's. They put me on a 24 hour moniter and it recorded over 1500 PAC's in that 24 hr period. I have also been put on Wellbutrin and Ativan. I have been very stressed lately but with al these meds I'm on, I don't think I should be having these PAC's as much as I do. It's isn't just like once or twice or skiping beats, My heart feels like it is fluttering in my chest for several seconds. I get dizzy with it at times as well. Is this normal or should I be concerned and go back to my cardio??

I'm so sorry you're going thru this!! I can relate as I have the same problems. But I think the SSRI's and Beta Blockers make things worse atleast they did for me. I only take Ativan when they act up really bad which is every day I take 2 mg per day.

The beta blockers won't make pacs or pvcs go away they just slow the heart rate down and lower bp so it helps with svt if you have a racing hr but it don't help with the palps. Atleast it didn't help me. I know some other people it helps.

May God Heal you & bless you,

Tara

Can't tell from your post, but if the sensations have changed based on starting the mediciation, I would communicate it to your cardiologist.  Sometimes people try more than one medications until they find one that works best.

Thank you for your posts. I have been on Zebeta for a few years because of the arythmia (I think thats how you spell it). I also have nerocardiagenic syncopy. I faint when my heart beat goes up, from the adrenalin increase. My heart rates hasn't been increasing, it just feels as if my heart isn't beating, just flopping around like a fish out of water. i feel dizzy sometimes when it happens. Just yawning will make it happen and when I go to bed, if I lay on my right side it does it every few minutes. I have been going to so many different doctors for various reasons, I'm only 37, and afraid my heart will just stop beating...

Hang in there.  It looks like there are a few of us that are not yet 40 yrs old (although I will be in the club soon) and struggle with these issues.  Keep doing your research and talking to your doctors.  I always take time to "study" before talking to my doctor.  It helps during the conversation.  However, I can never remember everything becasue it can be oveerwhelming at times.  As I indicated above, being aware of changes and reporting those to your doc is important.  Hope you feel better.

Magnesium oxide isn't absorbable by the body.  You might as well eat rocks.  Take a more absorbable form like chelated magnesium, magnesium citrate, or almost anything else really.
